I continued to sponsor the Polish Festival this year. I chose to step up and increase the sponsorship to the Bronze level. As always, I knew it would be a fantastic time and the weekend would be great.
Saturday was the first day of the festival. I was not able to spend as much time there as I have in the past. Work is a lot during the week, so I only have the weekends to get everything needed in life done. In this case, I had to run a number of errands, try to find parts for a broken dryer, coordinate a gift that I was giving, and get a little rest. That said, I was able to get to the festival. As always, it was amazing. I got some food, entered the raffle, and watched the sun set. I spent less time than I had hoped, but enjoyed what I had.
Sunday, I had some great plans in place. Nate and Nick were headed over to enjoy the festival and hang out. We met up at noon and promptly got some food and beer. We found a space to sit down. A few people asked if they could take the remaining seats as they were only there to eat and would then leave. We said yes. Over the course of the next hours, the time was spent with more of their friends showing up and a constant ask of us to "just move down a little bit". Annoying, but to be expected. Regardless, we had a fantastic time hanging out and taking in all of the sights. We wrapped after about 3 hours. They were ready to move to a new location and continue the hang. I unfortunately had laundry, dishes, and other work responsibilities to deal with. I had to part ways and head out.
As always, the first thanks is to all of the volunteers who show up year after year to make this so amazing and successful. I also want to send thanks to Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish for sponsoring the event and continuing to grow it. I'll see you there next year.
