From First To Last - October 2026

From First To Last has really picked up and the band has been out playing a number of festivals this year. In addition to the new singer, Lil Lotus, and the festival circuit, they also have a new EP that has been released. We Were Bleeding Anyway released on October 2nd. The band was playing at the Marquee Theater that night and I was off to see them.

The day was busy at work, but I managed to step away just after 5. That is not the norm for me and it was crazy to have some free time. I decided to make my way south and make some stops along the way. First up was dinner at Cafe Zupas. I really like that place but never get to go. I was able to check the Best Buy next door as well but they did not have anything that I needed. I made my way east and decided to stop at Target. I came across a hell of a sight; someone managed to launch their car over an island and on top of a large rock. A fuckup that size is impressive. I hit Target and Micro Center, and then got over to the Marquee.

I got parked and made my way in. I was getting situated when Matt called out. He was out front hanging out so I made my way over to chill with him for a while. We caught up a little before everyone else showed up. We all were hanging out around the front bar and catching up. At one point, I went outside to chill with Colleen and Jon for a bit and we got back inside to find everyone gone. Everyone got something to drink and we watched the last bit of I Set My Friends On Fire. I told them that I would meet up later. I wanted to be up front.

I got up front and got situated. From First To Last came on and started fucking killing it. They sounded fucking amazing and the crowd was really into it. My big gripe was that there were 2 people around me that were real pains in the ass. The one in front of me would hold up her phone, block everyone’s view, and just hit the photo button randomly. The thing is, she was not watching, so most of the time, she was not actually hitting the button and was just obstructing the view. The guy next to me kept telling everyone how Skrillex needed to come out and kept yelling at the band to bring out Skrillex. Regardless, I loved seeing them all play and seeing the smile on Matt's face. They broke for a bit and came out for a 2 song encore. Ride The Wings Of Pestilence was the last song and there were a lot of crowd surfers. I saw security pointing and looked to my rear right to see what was coming. It turned out to be Dave and it was awesome. Matt Manning was laughing hard when he saw who it was.

After the show, I headed back with everyone and we hung out for a while. People got pierced, shots were taken, plastic sheets were explored. Around 11:30, it was decided that the night was going to wrap. I gave Colleen and Jon a ride and then hopped on the 10 back to my place. The weather was nice and I drove with the moonroof open. It reminded me of so many nights that I did the same across so many different Accords. I got back to the house and spent a few minutes getting squared away. I finally got to sleep and it felt great.

Many thanks to Torin for the help. I am very grateful to have seen so many amazing people. I am really thankful to have friends that I see infrequently but genuinely give a shit about me. I am so happy to see Matt happy and on stage. It was a really great night and I really needed it.
