Special Ed Tries Out Puerto Rico

I recently had the opportunity to travel to Puerto Rico for work. I've never been there before and was intrigued by the culture, so I was pretty excited to get down and see it.

The trip was a very long one. I was traveling with 3 other people from work and we had a split leg trip. We met at the airport at 7am and headed off to Dallas. We landed in Dallas and got to sit in the airport for 2 hours until the next flight arrived. We flew from Dallas to San Juan, got the car, and got over to the hotel. We were staying at the Marriott on the beach. I dropped my stuff and headed back downstairs to eat. I finished eating and then walked a few miles to the grocery store. I had researched the rums that I wanted to bring back and wanted to pick them up while I had a chance. At that point, I'd been up and traveling for 16 hours and was beat.

Day 2 was a long one. We had a lot of work to do on the island, working from 8am until 7pm. At 7, we headed down to Old San Juan to have dinner and look around. Dinner was at a fantastic restaurant where we basically consumed every type of meat possible. It was amazingly good. I made a quick side trip to Senor Frogs for a souvenir, headed back to the group, and then made our way back to the hotel.

Day 3 was the last day on the island. We were up and moving at 8am again. We worked until noon and then grabbed lunch as a team. We got to the airport at 2pm, just in time to catch a flight delay. We got out of San Juan late and made it to Miami just in time to run to the connection as the doors were closing. We flew direct back to Phoenix and closed the trip out.

Puerto Rico is great and I would love to go back there again. If you ever get the opportunity to go, please do. It will not disappoint you!
