Punk Rock Karaoke announced that they would be back in Phoenix for the first time in a long time. As soon as I saw it, I knew that I would be going. Months later when the show was ready, I had picked up a case of sciatica and it dramatically changed my day.
I worked all day instead of taking it off. I had some things to take care of and was not in much shape to do anything. The sciatica had started and while not totally debilitating, moving or sitting at all was very painful. I knew it was to be a long day so I tried to be in the best shape that I could be. After work, I drove down to the Phoenix Masonic Temple. I got inside and hung out.
I knew that I would not be able to do much. I hung around a bit and caught Greg on his way in. We caught up for a few minutes before he had to go get ready. I hung around while standing against the wall. The show started and I moved up front to support everyone that got up to sing. It was about an hour and great to see so many people really having a great time. I chose not to participate this time.
I hung around for a bit after the show. I spoke to Greg for a few more minutes and he invited me to hang and go grab some dinner with everyone. I was in a lot of pain and still had to sit for a 35 minute drive home. As much as it sucked, I declined. I said my goodbyes, hopped in the car, and got back to the house where I could lay down on the floor. It was great to see Greg and a great show and I was looking forward to seeing him with the Circle Jerks soon.
