Taking A Break For A Small Stay In Scottsdale

As the year moves on, work is getting a lot more stressful. I wanted to take a break and take some time away. I also didn't want to travel far or have to deal with a big tip. I chose to do a small staycation in Scottsdale. I looked around and saw a Hilton Grand Vacations property that looked nice. I figured I would give it a shot and do 5 days and 4 nights over there. It turned out to be great.

The 28th was the first day of the stay. Checkin was not until 4pm. I decided to do a little driving around Scottsdale and check out some shops that I normally would not be near. I spent a few hours just milling around like this and headed to the hotel at 4. I got checked in and found my room. I unloaded the car and started bringing everything in to get settled. The room was fantastic. It was basically a 1 bedroom apartment conversion. I knew this would be the case and brought food and drinks with me as I would have a fridge. I got things totally settled and then needed to run a quick errand. Once complete, I headed back and just chilled for the night. I threw on a little tv and just relaxed.

Thursday, I got up after sleeping in a bit. There was a large shopping plaza nearby and I decided to go check that out. I was a little hungry and saw that there was a revolving sushi restaurant. Kura Revolving Sushi ended up being fantastic. It was great quality and a great price. I tried a number of different plates and really enjoyed it. With that done, I roamed the rest of the plaza for a bit. After that, I did not want to do much. I headed back to the hotel and just lounged around for a while. Around 5, I ran to the grocery store and grabbed a few things before heading back to eat. It cooled off slightly so I decided to check out the property. The pool was huge and looked fun. There was a large outdoor sitting area that was secluded behind some tall bushes. There was also a game room with 2 systems that had every video game possible on them. I wrapped up the tour and went back to the room. I spent the rest of the night just relaxing and hanging.

Friday, I got up and decided to hit Kura again. I got fed and did not want to do anything else. I went back to the room and just hung out most of the day. I had brought a book with me and decided to read a little. I like to be immersed when reading. I don't have enough time normally to commit to that. It felt good to sit down and enjoy a book. I did not do much of anything and got some great rest.

Saturday was similar to Friday. I got Kura for lunch again and mostly hung out. As the sun started to set, I headed over to the pool and sat over there for a bit. I finally headed back to the room to start packing. I got everything in order, did a little more reading, and then called it a night.

Sunday, I was up fairly early. Checkout is at 10AM, so there was no sleeping in. I got everything in the car, checked out, and headed back to the house. He trip was great and gave me a nice and pretty cheap break from the rut that I have fallen into in life.
