Sedona And Flagstaff - December 2022

Work has been a grind for most of this year. My new role meant more time spent working and a change to the flow of things. I normally do a Flagstaff/Sedona trip for the first day of my December vacation. This year, I extended it and enjoyed a few days away.

I woke up Saturday and was not fully relaxed. I'd slept well enough and my things were in the car, so I headed out. I chose to take the long way up through Cottonwood and make a longer day of it. With the only goal being Sedona, I had more time. I stopped at some shops, ate a quick lunch, and milled around while stopping anywhere that seemed fun. I wound up at my destination, the Hilton Bell Rock and got settled in. I hopped on the Internet for a bit and discovered my friends Jason and Abby were there for the night as well. I met them up for a few fireside drinks and caught up. We spoke of our plans for the night and agreed to meet up later.

I headed out for my normal dinner. The burger was alright and the restaurant less packed than normal. I walked around a bit before getting back tot he hotel. I met Jason and Abby up for a few more drinks before we split ways again. I watched a little tv in the room before turning in for what was an amazing night of sleep.

I got up Sunday and loaded up the car. I took the 89A to Flagstaff, not realizing that there was construction. I did a little shopping around town and walked around for a bit. I grabbed dinner near the hotel and walked back. The hotel was interesting. I was given a suite with leaky windows. For the bedroom to be comfortable, the living area had to be a furnace. I turned in and got some sleep.

Monday was the last of the adventuring. Due to the extreme cold, the car did not want to start. I got lunch and headed back south. I stopped at Rock Springs Cafe for some pies for friends and made my way back to the house. It was a fun little trip and I am glad that I got it.
