Senses Fail was in Phoenix earlier this year and made their way back through Tucson in November. I was excited to see them, so I made the drive down to Tucson.
I got into Tucson early. I made my way to the hotel and got everything checked in. I had a suite by the airport and was really looking forward to enjoying the room. There would be plenty of time for that later, but for now I had work to do. I hit up a few of the local record stores, scoring some punk rock albums that were stolen from me years ago. With those in hand, I made my way to the venue.
I got over just in time. The guys were done loading in and were ready to eat. We went across the street and got sandwiches. Gavin and I ran through everything that had happened since the last time that we saw each other. The food was pretty damn east coast authentic, which was quite the surprise to me. After some quick catching up, the guys had to soundcheck. They headed inside and I joined them. After a quick soundcheck, there were five hours to kill.
I had brought a bottle of Makers 46 and we decided to have a couple of drinks. We told stories and watched a couple of episodes of Undercover Boss. I made a quick run for some Brooklyn Pizza around 8. Eating again was terrible for my diet, but damn is that pizza good. I made it back just before the band took the stage.
The set was fantastic and the crowd was really into it. The energy was high for the entire 75 minute set. It sounded fantastic and I had a hell of a time. After the show, the band loaded out and I grabbed a quick signed set list from them. They had a long drive to Anaheim and had to get on their way. I headed back over to my hotel.
The next day was pretty relaxing. I got up, got ready, and headed back to Brooklyn Pizza. I got a couple of slices and got back on the road. I took my time on the way back to Phoenix, stopping at multiple stores that I always just drive past. It was a long day, but a great way to top the weekend.
